The men's basketball team's win in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship game Saturday, March 6, combined with West Liberty's loss in the final of its conference tournament has earned the Crimson Hawks the top seed in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Atlantic Region tournament, which starts Saturday, March 13, 2010.

IUP will host two of the four opening-round quarterfinal games March 13 and one of two semifinal games Sunday, March 14.

If the Crimson Hawks advance to the championship game, it will be held at Memorial Field House (IUP) on Tuesday, March 16, at 7:00 p.m.

The last time IUP played host to an NCAA regional tournament was in 2002.
