IUP will host the Region II Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, January 12–16, 2010. An IUP production, A Year with Frog and Toad, has been selected for inclusion in the festival.
The festival is anticipated to draw eight hundred to a thousand attendees from colleges and universities across an eight-state region and the District of Columbia.
This is the seventh IUP production in eight years selected for the regional competition, which accepted only nine productions out of approximately fifty plays entered for consideration. Region II includes more than eighty participating colleges and universities.
Five festival productions will be open to the community and will be presented in Fisher Auditorium on January 13–16. Both matinee and evening performances will be offered. Complete schedules and ticket information will be available on the IUP website.
The festival honors excellence of overall production and offers student artists individual recognition through awards and scholarships in playwriting, acting, criticism, directing, and design.
