Indiana University of Pennsylvania's Division of Emergency Services Training will offer its 2009 spring emergency medical technician-basic training program starting Jan. 13, 2009.

This is a 128-hour course intended to prepare the participant to deliver pre-hospital emergency medical care. It is designed for individuals who want to work on an ambulance as well as others who may be in positions where emergency medical training would be beneficial. The course is certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and is approved by the Veterans Administration for benefits.

The class will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $375. Participants must also purchase the textbook for the course, which is approximately $60.

Registration is due by Jan. 6, 2009, and must include a $100 nonrefundable deposit.

Late registrations will be accepted from Jan. 2–6, 2009, if space is available, but will require a $50 late registration fee. For a registration form and more information, call (724) 357-4052 or visit the website at http://www.iup.edu/est.
