IUP Magazine won the Gold Award in the External Publications category of the Twenty-third Annual Admissions Advertising Awards sponsored by Admissions Marketing Report.

It competed with other schools of between 10,000 and 19,999 students. The other winners in the magazine's category:

Bronze--Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
Merit--The University of Montana
Merit--University of Missouri-St. Louis
Merit--Southeast Missouri State University

This is the largest education advertising awards competition in the country. This year, two thousand entries were received from more than a thousand colleges, universities, and secondary schools in all fifty states and several foreign countries. Judges were a national panel of admissions marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals, and the editorial board of Admissions Marketing Report, the nation's leading marketing publication for higher education.

IUP Magazine has won twenty-three national awards in the past eighteen years. It is distributed quarterly to more than 90,000 readers. Karen Gresh serves as the magazine's editor.
