Benjamin Phillian, BS Ed Secondary Mathematics Education (2019), received a 2023 Yale Educator Award.
Phillian is a mathematics teacher at Turkeyfoot Valley Area High School in Confluence, PA.
The Yale Educator Recognition Program recognizes outstanding educators from around the world who have supported and inspired their students to achieve at high levels. Phillian was nominated for the award by Abigail Barlow, a current Yale undergraduate and Turkeyfoot alumna.
Barlow wrote "I can't think of a teacher who is more deserving of the Yale Educator Award than you… to show my appreciation for all the incredible things you do as a teacher/theater director/NHS advisor/all-around amazing person."
