Admission is free, and the public is invited. The performance will conclude the ensemble’s residency as part of IUP’s Sims Distinguished Artist Series.

Known for its energetic performances and imaginative programming, WindSync brings a fresh approach to chamber music. The quintet combines flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn in performances that emphasize musical expression and a personal connection with audiences. Its repertoire includes commissioned works and arrangements created by the ensemble, frequently performed from memory.

“WindSync is a dynamic group of chamber musicians breathing new life into a classic ensemble,” said Matt Baumer, chair of IUP’s Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance. “We’re excited for them to work with our students and share their experience as musical entrepreneurs. The concert will highlight their exquisite musicianship and ensemble playing in a wide variety of repertoire.”

WindSync has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Library of Congress, as well as at festivals and concert venues throughout the United States and abroad. Education is central to the ensemble’s mission, with appearances at universities, conservatories, and music festivals across the country.

Supported by a generous gift from IUP alumnus Edward Sims, the Dr. Edward R. Sims ’53 Distinguished Visiting Artist/Scholar for Music program brings renowned musicians and scholars to campus for performances and educational activities. The program connects IUP students with visiting artists through concerts, lectures, master classes, and other learning opportunities.
