Performances will take place October 29, 30, and 31 at 7:30 p.m. and November 1 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $18, $15, and $12.

At the end of the 1920s, the Weimar Republic’s artistic and intellectual scene was a frenzy of ideas, people, performance, and politics, with Berlin’s nightlife at its epicenter. Cabaret brings audiences into that charged atmosphere, where the excitement of the city’s celebrated nightlife unfolds against a changing political landscape.

The production is directed by Carrie J. Cole, with choreography by Marty Savolskis, music direction by Sabin Fisher, and conducting by Zach Collins. Together, Theater-by-the-Grove and IUP Music Theatre bring the musical’s vibrant world to the Waller Mainstage.

Cabaret features a book by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander, and lyrics by Fred Ebb. It is based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood. IUP’s production uses the version revised for the 1998 revival at Studio 54.

Tickets may be purchased online or by phone through the Lively Arts Office at 724-357-2787, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Remaining tickets may be purchased at the door one hour prior to each performance.

This production is presented by the College of Arts, Humanities, Media, and Public Affairs and is funded, in part, by the IUP Student Cooperative Association.
