Shijuan Liu presented and provided training as an expert trainer at the Second Advanced Summer School in International Chinese Language Teaching, held in conjunction with the Ninth Conference on Chinese Teaching in Scotland, at the University of Edinburgh, June 16–19, 2026.
Over four intensive days, the summer school, supported by the Confucius Institute for Scotland, offers a dynamic combination of expert lectures, small-group seminars, and individual mentoring to over 20 participants selected worldwide for their research and teaching practice under the theme of AI and the Future of International Chinese Language Teaching. The title of her presentation was “AI in Chinese Language Teaching and Learning: When to Use It and When Not to?”
This is Liu’s second time giving an in-person presentation at Edinburgh, United Kingdom. She was a keynote speaker for the 2023 Annual International Conference of the British Chinese Language Teaching Society, also hosted by the University of Edinburgh, June 29 to July 1, 2023.
