Applications are now available for the 2020-21 Chafee Grant. Fostering Independence Tuition Waiver Program

For the 2020-21 academic year, the Pennsylvania departments of Education, Human Services, and Labor and Industry have partnered with PHEAA to offer the Fostering Independence Tuition Waiver Program. This program offers tuition waivers at post-secondary institutions, like IUP, for eligible youth who are or have been in foster care, establish eligibility for services under the Chafee program, and meet the additional criteria identified here. Other than the 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Chafee ETG application, no other documents are required to apply for this new tuition waiver program.

Students with questions about the new Fostering Independence Tuition Waiver program should contact Erin Fritz Wood, assistant director of Financial Aid, at either 724-357-2218 or financial-aid@iup.edu for additional information.
