The Student Finance Association sincerely appreciates the guest speakers who generously shared their time and expertise with our members during the spring 2026 semester. Each speaker, whether in person or via Zoom, provided valuable insights into career paths within the finance profession.
Spring 2026 Guest Speaker Highlights
- February 18: Phil Henry ’81, an IUP alumnus and president of Henry Wealth Management, spoke about his career in wealth management. He offered practical insights into this line of work and shared valuable advice drawn from his forty-plus years of experience in this profession.
- March 19 (cohosted by the SFA, SMIP, and Econ Club): Robert Schwartz ’18, an IUP finance graduate, is an associate portfolio manager at Federated Hermes specializing in public credit. In his talk, he discussed the credit markets, his professional responsibilities, and his involvement in venture capital initiatives. He also stressed the value of campus engagement and networking while reflecting on career experiences that shaped his professional journey.
- April 16 (cohosted by the SFA, SMIP, Econ Club, and SAA): Elam Gates ’19, senior finance associate at PNC and a graduate of IUP’s Eberly College of Business Honors program, provided an overview of PNC’s corporate and institutional banking operations. He discussed his role on the C&IB Finance Control team and emphasized the value of internships, especially their potential to lead to full-time career opportunities.
- April 21 (cohosted by the SFA and the SMIP): Tyler Anderson, a 2022 Penn State finance graduate, is a product control manager at JPMorgan Chase within the firm’s Chief Investment Office. Anderson spoke with our students about his career journey and current professional role and offered practical advice for those interested in pursuing careers in finance.
