The Counseling Center is offering online counseling services to assist enrolled students. Research has shown that group counseling is as effective as individual counseling. This is an opportunity for you to talk with other students who have similar experiences while providing support and perspective.

“Connecting with Self and Others” will begin the week of October 26 and run throughout the fall semester. Participation in this group will allow students who are feeling isolated, disconnected from their peers, and/or unable to maintain meaningful relationships to learn about their interpersonal styles, develop improved confidence in social settings, and give and receive support from their peers.

All counseling and consultation services will solely be online (conducted through HIPPA-compliant Zoom or phone) to keep students, faculty, and staff safe and healthy.

Due to high demand, this group will have two sessions available: Mondays 3:15-4:30 p.m. or Wednesdays 1:15-2:30 p.m.

Participation in these groups requires an initial meeting with the group facilitators. To schedule this initial meeting or to ask questions, contact the Counseling Center by phone at 724-357-2621 or email counseling-center@iup.edu.
