For the second year in a row, Comm Media's doctoral student Nafisah Sulaiman has won the Dean's Award for Excellence for a paper presented at this year's IUP Scholars Forum.
Under the mentorship of Comm Media faculty Nurhaya Muchtar, Nafisah presented papers on "The Effect of Political Songs on the Choice of Candidate, Political Ideology, and Party Loyalty Among Young Nigerians" and "Political Music and In-group and Out-group Behavior of Electorates in Nigeria."
The Scholars Forum provides a unique opportunity to foster scholarship and collegiality among students and faculty members by providing a professional conference atmosphere within IUP where students get to present their original research, creative scholarship, teacher work samples, and other forms of scholarly discovery.
