You decide where it takes you. This certificate provides you with foundational knowledge and technical skills in the emerging field of small uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS).   • Requirements for FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification

You’ll also have many opportunities to conceive, plan, and carry out small uncrewed aircraft systems missions to acquire spatial data, video, and aerial photography and to build a portfolio that demonstrates your skills.

The Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) Science and Applications Certificate program gives you the knowledge, experience, and credentials to work with drones professionally.

Classes and Requirements

To earn this certificate, you’ll take four 3-credit classes that are directly focused on this hands-on field. One of the classes is offered as two options.

You’ll build a portfolio that demonstrates your capabilities in mission planning as well as aerial data acquisition and processing. You’ll also prepare to become certified as a Federal Aviation Administration Part 107 remote pilot, operator, or ancillary ground crew member/observer.
