IUP’s History Club raised $1,000 at a fundraising dinner it held April 16, 2010, in the Indiana Zion Lutheran Church.

Club members raised funds to contribute to the endowment of the Eric Slebodnik Scholarship at IUP. The scholarship is named after Eric, a History major and a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard who was killed in action in Iraq in 2005.

Each year, the scholarship is awarded to a History or Social Studies Education major through a competitive selection process.

This year’s recipient of the Eric Slebodnik Scholarship was Jena Antonelli. She is working on her degree in Social Studies Education and plans to work with Native American children upon graduation.
