Donald Eisen, faculty emeritus and founding
chair of the Department of Theater and Dance, died peacefully in his home over the weekend in Silver Springs, Maryland.
His funeral service will be Wednesday, December 19, at 1:30 p.m. Further details are available at the Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Care website.
Don will be
remembered as a “man of the theater” who formed many of our early
graduates, as well as the Department. His students became artistic directors, playwrights, actors, stage technicians, and, all to one degree or another, scholars of theater. His commitment to theater as a
liberal art led him to endow a scholarship and contribute for several
years as a dramaturg for Theater-by-the-Grove.
He will be greatly missed,
and our theater family mourns his passing.
