Ankrum, Vigna, and Myers Present on Differentiated Spelling Instruction at Literacy Conference

Julie Ankrum, Katelyn Vigna, and Jocelyn Myers gave a presentation at the annual conference of the Keystone State Literacy Association on October 30, 2018. The conference was held at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center in State College, Pennsylvania.

The team provided an interactive presentation demonstrating how effective classroom teachers implement differentiated spelling instruction, based on assessment data, to meet individual learners’ needs.

Julie Ankrum serves as associate professor in the Department of Professional Studies in Education. Katelyn Vigna graduated from IUP’s MEd in Literacy/Reading Specialist Certification program and teaches at Sunnyside PK-8 in Pittsburgh. Jocelyn Myers is a current student in the MEd in Literacy/Reading Specialist Certification Program and teaches first grade at Cambria Elementary School.
