Cate PlaniksyThe Lively Arts will host its third “Chat” at the Artists Hand Gallery in Downtown Indiana with a focus on “How We Host a Touring Artist.” This Chat With the Lively Arts will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.

Leading the discussion and answering any other questions you may have about the Lively Arts will be Cate Planiksy. Planisky is a long-time resident of Indiana and serves as the performance services assistant for the Lively Arts. In addition to her many duties, she is the person responsible for taking care of each touring artist’s needs, from arranging local lodging and meals to specific personal requests they may have for the concert or during their stay.

Community members are also invited to bring their questions about the upcoming season, including the various series such Ovations!, Theater-by-the-Grove, Music Theater, and more. Those attending are also welcome to ask about any topic they wish, such as how a season is selected, how much tickets cost in comparison with other venues, the various outreach we do for schools and the community, and more.

Those attending will receive a coupon for $2 off any latte drink. They will also be entered into a drawing that will give away two Ovations! series subscriptions. The subscriptions will be awarded following the September 9 Chat With the Lively Arts, which is the first day of the Northern Appalachian Folk Festival.

The Artists Hand Gallery and Espresso Bar is located at 732 Philadelphia Street. The Chats are held every second Friday of the month through next May. To suggest a topic or propose a question to discuss, send an e-mail to Hank.Knerr@iup.edu.
