The Association for Information Systems (AIS), an international organization, recently awarded the student Association for Management Information Systems (AMIS)/AIS Club at the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology the title of Outstanding Student Chapter for the 2014-2015 academic year.

The Outstanding Student Chapter award is bestowed each year upon AIS student chapters on the basis of high performance in the organization’s six areas of emphasis: professional development, membership, careers in IS, community service, fundraising, and communications.

The Eberly AMIS/AIS Club was selected for this award from among almost 70 chapters of AIS. The awards ceremony took place in Fort Worth, Texas on December 14, 2015, at the International Conference of Information Systems.

As stated by James Parrish, the AIS Vice President of Student Chapters, “AIS takes immense pride in recognizing the distinguished scholars who make up our community and, ultimately, contribute to the success of the field. As such, I wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate IUP’s student chapter as well as the student leaders involved.”
