ICDC President Jim Wiley recently spoke about the economic past and future of Indiana County to the Leadership Indiana County participants.

A lifetime resident of Indiana County and president of the Indiana County Development Corporation, Wiley is able to see both the big picture and the details of business development in the county. He spoke about the business parks and the emerging opportunities created by large-scale investments. As a Boy Scout leader for 27 years, he also spoke about leadership and service in all of his various positions.

The Leadership Indiana County (LIC) program is a county-wide, multi-month training program for 25-to-45 year-old business and community leaders. It is offered to the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce and administered by the MARTI Institute at IUP.

The director of the program is Erick Lauber (Journalism and Public Relations), under the supervision of Alex Heckert (Sociology, which houses the Ph.D. in Administration and Leadership Studies) and Victor Garcia (Anthropology, director of the MARTI Institute).
