Psychology faculty and students hosted the fourth annual PA State System Psychology Conference on Saturday, October 4, 2014.

This conference was initiated in October 2010 in order to promote interactions among psychology faculty and students across all State System universities.

One major focus of this conference is the presentation of research conducted jointly by students and faculty. A second focus is raising awareness of research conducted by colleagues throughout the System universities, with the hope of spawning collaborations. A great deal of enthusiasm has marked each conference.

Saturday’s keynote address was delivered by IUP faculty member Maureen McHugh. Eleven IUP students and eight IUP faculty made presentations; other student and faculty presenters came from Bloomsburg, Kutztown, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, and West Chester universities. Presentations were made in five topic-focused symposia and at a poster session.

Deanne Snavely, dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, strongly endorsed the conference in addressing participants. The college, through Snavely’s efforts, has provided financial support for each conference held since 2011, including this most recent conference.

The second and third conferences were held at Kutztown and Millersville universities, respectively.
