Madeline Neely, student in the Department of Health and Physical Education, was recognized by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) by receiving the Major of the Year Award.

Every year, NASPE honors exemplary students majoring in physical education, sport management, athletic training, and the subdisciplines of kinesiology from across the country.

Neely is very active in both departmental and professional activities. This includes working with the HPED Major’s Club, the Special Needs Activity Program, and frequently attending and presenting at state educational conferences. When she graduates in Spring 2014, she will move to West Virginia, where she has already accepted a teaching position.
