Undergraduate Nutrition majors from Rita Johnson's Community Nutrition class, as well as six dietetic interns, participated in the 2013 National Day of Dance for Your Health event at the Indiana Mall on February 23, 2013.
Thirty pairs of undergraduate students created poster displays with health and nutrition messages, such as “Shaking the Sodium,” “Is Your Serving Size Wise?” and “Dash Into Heart Health.” In addition, students offered attendees educational handouts, coupons, and food samples donated from several national food corporations.

The dietetic interns hosted two sessions of cooking demonstrations: Cha Cha Chili and Healthy Trail Mix.
Other free activities available throughout the mall included health screenings and dancing demonstrations.
Day of Dance is an annual event to promote cardiovascular disease awareness, presented locally by Indiana Regional Medical Center; national sponsors include the Spirit of Women Hospital Network, Good Housekeeping magazine, HeartCaring, and the Heart Truth Campaign.
