Indiana University of Pennsylvania has appointed Evan Bohnen associate vice president for Development in the University Advancement Division, following a national search.
Bohnen began his position at IUP January 14, 2013. He is responsible for direct supervision of all fund-raising operations at IUP, which comprise major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, donor relations, and donor research.
He comes to IUP from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, where he served as assistant vice president for Advancement for five years. Among his accomplishments at Marietta were the successful execution of a $50 million comprehensive fund-raising campaign and the improvement of fiscal accountability and reliability of reporting to donors and the college’s board of trustees.
Previously, Bohnen served as director of Advancement at Radford University in Virginia, as director of Development for Virginia Tech’s College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, and as director of Development at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point.
“We are very excited to have Evan join our team,” said Bill Speidel, vice president for University Advancement. “His extensive experience at large and small universities and his proven leadership will be a great asset. We look forward to improving our day-to-day fund-raising operations and planning and executing our future comprehensive campaign.”
