Winner of the Tony Awards “Triple Crown” for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book, Avenue Q will close this summer’s season for Keystone Repertory Theater. Performances will be held on the Waller Hall Mainstage, IUP Performing Arts Center, August 10–11, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 12, at 2:00 p.m.

Avenue Q is part puppet, part live action, and packed with heart. It tells the timeless story of a recent college graduate named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that the residents there are not quite what they seem. Princeton and his new-found friends struggle against real-world problems with uncertain outcomes.

This show contains language and situations to which some audience members may object and is not recommended for younger children.

Tickets are available up through 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10, at the Hadley Union Building box office. Tickets remaining will be be sold at the door starting 45 minutes before the performance. Seating is by general admission.

KRT is a student-directed program and is produced by Theater-by-the-Grove, a program of the IUP Department of Theater and Dance and the College of Fine Arts. It is funded, in part, by the IUP Student Cooperative Association.
