Prof Engages Students at America 250 Fair
Erin Conlin, professor of history, recently hosted a booth at Purchase Line Junior/Senior High School’s Celebrate America250 Fair that invited students to play an American history timeline game. She also talked with the students about academic pathways in history and political science at IUP. Learn more.

Late Retiree Honored with Scholarship
A North Carolina woman, along with her husband, has donated $30,000 to establish a scholarship in memory of her late aunt, Joyce Newhouse Flinko, who retired from the Office of Financial Aid in 2007. Preference is given to students from Cameron, Elk, Indiana, or McKean County studying in the College of Osteopathic Medicine or the College of Health Sciences. Learn more.
Solving Rural Workforce Shortages: IRMC Medical Technology School
This episode of Rural Health Pulse highlights a powerful example of rural innovation: the creation of the IRMC School of Medical Technology. With medical laboratory scientists in critically short supply nationwide, Indiana Regional Medical Center partnered with IUP to build a pipeline of highly skilled clinical laboratory professionals. Jim Kinneer is joined by four guests: Jackie Sansig, Connie Zitterbart, Chris Baum, and recent program graduate Rebecca Hollobaugh, who share the story behind the program’s development, the evolution of laboratory science roles, and the impact this initiative is already having on the community and the healthcare workforce.
