We at the IUP Libraries firmly support the tradition of National Library Week, and each year we join the ALA and libraries across the country to recognize libraries and the role they play in the lives of their communities.
In 1966, the American Library Association (ALA) held the first National Library Week (NLW) to, in the words of the ALA, "celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use." Every April, we celebrate National Library Week with displays, events, and contests.
Please join us each April to learn more about National Library Week, take advantage of the wealth of information we can help you find, and help us and the ALA celebrate our libraries.
