Wheatall Wins First Place at IUP Women in Science Program

Biology graduate student Laura Wheatall won the first-place Graduate Student Award at the the fifth annual IUP Women in Mathematics, Science, and Technology Program.

Wheatall’s research on the “Effects of White-Tailed Deer on Insect Communities in the Allegheny Hardwoods” is supervised by Dr. Tim Nuttle, assistant professor of Biology.

The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics sponsored the program April 19, 2010, as part of Research Appreciation Week, highlighting scholarly accomplishments of female undergraduate/graduate students and faculty.
