Ahdab Saaty, English, presented at this year’s Three Rivers TESOL Conference on “Successful Collaborative Writing Requirements.” Her presentation is based on her recently defended dissertation on “Wiki-Supported Collaborative Writing. Saudi Female Graduate Students’ Practices, Discourse Strategies, and Participant Perceptions,” Her advisor is Lilia Savova.

Saaty’s presentation illustrates several successful collaboration requirements to avoid failure in collaborative writing projects. It shows how it is important in collaborative writing projects to consider the task design, the participants’ readiness for collaboration, and the way collaborative work is organized and delegated. Following her presentation and the conference participants’ evaluation of 3 Rivers TESOL presentations, Ahdab Saaty was invited to write an article for the 3 Rivers TESOL newsletter. In their invitation, the conference organizers stated “your presentation was among those that were well-received according to the evaluations.”
