The
Jones White Writing Center will offer IUP students the opportunity to get help
with writing a cover letter at the Wednesday Workshop that will be held on
November 14 at 7:00 p.m. in 218 Eicher Hall.
Cover
letters are a key component of applying to jobs, internships, or graduate schools,
so students need to understand how to write a clear cover letter.
To
help students better understand cover letter writing, the workshop hosted by
the Jones White Writing Center will present on the purpose of cover letters,
the parts of cover letters, and techniques for approaching the writing of cover
letters. Sample cover
letters will be provided so students can learn cover letter genre conventions
such as standard formats, openings, and closings. For career specific or content
advice, students should visit the Career and Professional Development Center.
Every
Wednesday Workshop is open to all IUP students and is about an hour long.
Attendance vouchers will be available for students.
