Krista Speicher Sarraf, doctoral student in English Composition and Applied Linguistics, recently published “A Review of LastPass: A Password Management System” in Computers and Composition Online.
In this review, Sarraf describes the utility of LastPass, a password utility program, for password management and digital security, while also emphasizing the potential of the application for teaching data security and digital literacy. The increased
focus on multimodality in composition courses necessitates increased attention to data security. LastPass, Sarraf argues, “can be used to initiate and extend conversations about internet safety, identity, and technology...[and] can help teachers and
students become more digitally literate as they create multimodal and digital compositions.”
