Students in IUP Punxsutawney’s General Psychology class recently participated in a community service project where they purchased Christmas gifts for seven children from the area.
Theresa Ruffner, assistant professor, and
Gina Bryant, administrative assistant, organized the project as a way to give back to the community this holiday season. Families were identified, and wish lists for seven children were received. Students had a great time shopping for the kids and
wrapping their gifts.
Student Alli Lunger said, “It is a great opportunity to give at Christmas than receive, knowing you are able to make a difference in a child’s life.”
Another student, Isaiah Snyder said, “It is very inspiring to see what a kid would want in this situation
and what hope they still have.”
