Matthew Vetter (English Department) has co-authored an article with IUP colleagues Daniel Weinstein (English Department), Theresa McDevitt (IUP Libraries), and Kenneth Sherwood (English Department).

The article, titled "Critical Digital Praxis in Wikipedia: The Art+Feminism Edit-a-thon" appears in the online journal Hybrid Pedagogy.

In addition to describing a recent Edit-a-thon event—co-sponsored by IUP Libraries, Women's and Gender Studies, and the Center for Digital Humanities and Culture—this article makes an argument for critical engagement in digital spaces as a meaningful method for public scholarship.

The Arts+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon event, held last March, yielded 36 visitors. From this group, 24 registered participants made a total of 74 edits, edited content in 15 articles, and created one new article, adding a total of 3,450 words on women and the arts to the encyclopedia. Facilitators and sponsors of this event are planning a second Edit-a-thon, to be held March 7, 2018.
