Back in 2012, she decided to take a year off from school and enlist in the United States Air Force.
After missing two semesters, she decided to come back and continue her education, earning her marketing degree in 2016.
“IUP has been nothing but helpful when it comes to transitioning from
airman to student. The professors understood that I had other
obligations and were willing to go above and beyond to make sure I
succeeded in both work and school,” Henry said.
Soon after IUP graduation, Caleigh was deployed to Qatar for a month, and then returned to her unit, the 171st Air Refueling Wing in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, for a two-month tour of duty.
Next, she continued her education at Robert
Morris University, earning a master’s degree in August 2017 in organizational leadership. Following graduate school, she will be working full-time at the 171st Air Refueling Wing base.
“Marketing was a great department at IUP,” she said. “I learned a lot from my classes.”
