Fedele Selected to Serve as Registrar

Following a national search, Jennifer Fedele has been selected to serve as registrar for Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Jennifer Fedele selected as RegistrarFedele, of Murrysville, will begin work at IUP on June 5. She comes to IUP from Point Park University, where she has served as university registrar since 2003.

Prior to her work at Point Park University, she was registrar at ITT Technical Institute in Pittsburgh. She began her professional career as Financial Aid director at the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts and served in that role at Educational Support Services, Sawyer Institute, and at the Community College of Allegheny County–Boyce Campus.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Robert Morris University in business administration (marketing) and a master’s degree in adult and community education from IUP. She has professional memberships in the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, Middle States Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, and Pittsburgh Council on Higher Education—Registrar Group.

“I am looking forward to beginning the new position at Indiana University of Pennsylvania,” Fedele said. “I have been given a wonderful opportunity to work at my alma mater. My experience as a graduate student at IUP was rewarding and helped me to achieve the position of registrar.

The Office of the Registrar at IUP provides responsive, student-centered customer service to the IUP community, alumni, parents, and external requesters. Personnel maintain the integrity, accuracy, and privacy of individual academic and enrollment records to report information in a time-sensitive manner.

Members of the staff collaborate with the university to provide scheduling, record keeping, and registration services that comply with federal, state, and university regulations.

 The Office of the Registrar offers the following core functions:

  • Address residency concerns and review residency appeals
  • Certify academic eligibility of student athletes
  • Convert records to electronic media for archival purposes
  • Coordinate university commencement activities
  • Fulfill ad hoc data requests
  • Implement and maintain Degree Works
  • Manage student registration process
  • Manage the course catalog, prerequisites, and programs
  • Monitor semester schedule building process
  • Oversee classroom and facilities scheduling
  • Oversee the issuance of transcripts, diplomas, enrollment, and degree verification
  • Process applications for graduation and post degrees
  • Process end of semester grades, grade changes, D/F repeats, pass/fail, and audit requests
  • Process major/minor changes and name changes
  • Process readmission applications
  • Produce and distribute Dean’s List and Provost Scholar certificates
  • Produce the Undergraduate Catalog in Web-based and print formats
  • Publish academic calendar, class schedule, and final exam schedule
  • Report enrollment and degree data to the National Student Clearinghouse
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Act 48 Certification
