Fred Schroeder, through the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Visiting Scientist Program, will offer an intensive short-course to geoscience students on Wednesday, October 7. With over 38 years of industry experience (32 years with ExxonMobil research), Schroeder is an expert in the quantitative use of seismic attributes for stratigraphic predictions, working on over 50 plays over his career.

The AAPG Visiting Geoscientist Program is designed to give students a chance to meet practicing geoscientists and to discuss geoscience career options. Students will have opportunities to discuss the changes which have taken place in the job market discuss new technical challenges. The intensive six-hour course will provide practical knowledge and hands-on experience with the basics of prospecting, structural analysis, and seismic interpretations of oil/gas plays.
