On September 3, 2015, colleagues in the Student Affairs division met to discuss ways to foster a student-centered university.

The Division has adopted five initiatives which support the implementation of IUP’s 2015–20 Strategic Plan.

  • Develop academic support structures, in and outside the classroom, for student-athletes
  • Strengthen and integrate services and programs to promote student development, leadership, and success with a focus on Punxsutawney students
  • Informed by the Campus Climate Survey and Middle States Self-Study findings, identify and design experiences and systems which offer students interactions to understand, value, and incorporate diverse perspectives
  • Strengthen and integrate services and programs to promote university citizenship and leadership
  • Strengthen university systems supporting student concerns and fostering student success

President Driscoll at the Student Affairs Division openingPresident Driscoll addressed Student Affairs faculty, staff, and graduate students encouraging those in attendance to accelerate progress forward on the Strategic Plan.

To build a discourse, the division has established a Twitter account, #SAStudentCentered, and will be posting experiences which reflect these values.
