The Lively Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania has announced its single ticket prices for the 2011–2012 season. The coming year includes the inaugural season of the Ovations! series, featuring touring artists from around the world. The Lively Arts also consists of other events presented by different departments within the College of Fine Arts.
Ticket prices for the Ovations! series represent a decrease in cost, on average, of 15 percent compared to similar productions in previous years at IUP.
The least expensive seat starts at $10 for university I-Card holders, children, and other students for events such as the smaller concerts held in Gorell Recital Hall. The maximum price for the best seats to larger events in the series will be $35. This includes the two touring Broadway shows and the performance by Bernadette Peters. All tickets for Ovations! will be by reserved seating.
Tickets for events produced by the departments in the College of Fine Arts will remain the same as last season. These series include Theater-by-the-Grove, Music Theater, Sound Choices, and Dance Theater. The prices for these productions range from $6 for children and I-Card holders up to a maximum of $15 for the musical productions. Seating for these events is by general admission.
A list of single ticket prices for all events is available online. The prices are listed both in the calendar of events and on the ticket information webpage.
Audience members can save additional money by subscribing to a series or a combination of series. There are a wide variety of packages that are designed to provide great flexibility, depending on tastes and schedules. People subscribing to a single series such as Ovations! or Theater-by-the-Grove will receive 10 percent off the single ticket price.
For a combination, such as the popular Totally Theater package, subscribers will save at least 15 percent. Subscribers choosing the Totally Everything package, which includes all twenty-four major performance events, will save at least 20 percent.
Another popular plan is the Flex Pak, which allows audience members to select at least eight events out of the twenty-four, and saves $1.00 for each ticket purchased.
Other plans are available that include all of the Ovations! Fisher events, such as Broadway legend Bernadette Peters, the touring musicals In the Heights and Young Frankenstein, Eileen Ivers’ Irish Christmas, and more.
Subscriptions are available now through Thursday, October 6, 2011, when Theater-by-the-Grove opens its season with the hard-hitting new drama Lindsey’s Oyster.
A brochure is available detailing all subscription plans. To receive your brochure, call the Lively Arts at 724-357-ARTS (2787) or e-mail email@example.com. The brochure and order form can also be downloaded from the Lively Arts website.
The more affordable pricing structure for tickets is due primarily to the wide variety of sponsors, partners, individuals, and grants that will support the upcoming season. Area business sponsors include Robindale Energy Services, Inc.; Wilmoth Interests, Inc.; the Indiana Gazette, Renda Broadcasting, the Co-op-Store, Delaney Automotive Group, and Sheetz. Special gifts have also been provided by the Helwig family, the Helwig Distinguished Artist Endowment, and the Mary Jane Shafer Memorial Speaker Fund, plus individual contributions made to the Lively Arts through the Premiere Club.
Campus partners helping to sponsor the season include the Student Cooperative Association, African American Cultural Center, Office of International Education, Committee for the Study of Culture and Religion, Eberly College of Business, and others.
Grants have also been received from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour, and Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance.
