Office for Human Research Protections
This office in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services provides guidance to universities as they seek to comply with federal regulations concerning protection of human subjects in research.
Office of Research Integrity
The ORI promotes integrity in biomedical and behavioral research supported by the Public Health Service (PHS) at about four thousand institutions worldwide. ORI monitors institutional investigations of research misconduct and facilitates the responsible conduct of research through educational, preventive, and regulatory activities.
Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research
This non-membership organization was founded in 1974 to advance strong research programs within a context of ethical practice. It is affiliated with the Applied Research Ethics National Association (ARENA), which is a national service and membership organization for communication among professionals about research, health care, and ethics.
