Indiana University of Pennsylvania invites students to earn college credits through our Dual Enrollment Program.
This program gives high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors the opportunity to enroll in Indiana University of Pennsylvania Crimson Core courses, experience college-level learning, and begin working toward their future academic and career goals—all while still in high school. Courses are available online or in person at the Indiana, Northpointe, and Punxsutawney campuses.
Students may begin participating in dual enrollment during the summer between their freshman and sophomore years and may continue through the spring semester of their senior year. Seniors who have completed their high school graduation requirements may enroll full-time—up to four courses per semester—with approval from their school counselor.
Enrollment limits are based on grade level:
- Sophomores may take one course per semester (summer, fall, and spring).
- Juniors and seniors may take up to two courses per semester (fall, spring, and summer).
During the summer term, dual enrollment students may enroll in courses offered in Summer I or Summer II sessions only.
You Can Get Ahead
Successful completion of the coursework will earn you regular college credits, which will be applied to your official IUP transcript. In addition, all credits meet IUP’s academic curriculum requirements for degree completion. If you choose to enroll at another university, be sure to contact that institution directly so they can determine how your IUP credits will transfer under their policies.
You Can Save Money
Students who earn admission to the dual enrollment program pay a significantly reduced rate: a 75 percent discount on tuition per credit. All fees are waived for dual enrollment students except for the technology fee.Students who apply to the STEM Academy program may also be eligible for scholarship funding. IUP no longer requires school districts to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to participate in our program. We have expanded our discount to include students who are enrolled in a US high school (public, private, charter, cyber) or students who are homeschooled with a domicile within the United States. Courses must be approved by IUP and the high school counselor.
