    BSEd Early Childhood–Special Education

    • Become a highly qualified, competent, and effective teacher for all students.
    • Master the best teaching practices. You’ll earn the academic requirements for Pennsylvania certification in both pre-K to grade 4, as well as special education pre-K to grade 8.
    • Enrich your knowledge by combining your coursework in early childhood education and special education with extensive field experiences in a variety of settings.
    • Become qualified to use the appropriate techniques and strategies to expand your students’ cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

    BSEd Early Childhood–Special Education Urban Track

    • Specialize so that your teaching skills are effective in urban school districts, especially low-income communities with high minority enrollments.
    • Champion the historical, economic, political, and socio-cultural contexts of urban schools by completing coursework mixed with field experiences.
    • Develop the skills, knowledge, and cultural sensitivities that are critical for working with students whose backgrounds and life experiences are often vastly different from your own.

    BSEd Middle Level Education 4-8

    The Middle Level certification requires a specialization in math, English/language arts, social studies, or science.

    • Master your topic. As a math, English/language arts, social studies, or science instructor, you’ll teach all general subjects in grades 4–6 and be the teacher of record for your specialty in grades 7 and 8.
