    Accepting Applications for Fall 2018

IUP has earned a reputation for outstanding teacher education programs. In collaboration with the Butler County Community College (BC3), IUP offers the same level of excellence in Butler.

The BC3/IUP Early Childhood/Special Education (ECSP) program is a cost-effective way for students to obtain a teaching certificate.

Students work with talented faculty members and learn how to engage and inspire the next generation of students.

Graduates Teach Early Childhood Pre-K to Grades 4 and Special Education Pre-K to Grade 8

Field experiences take place in a variety of settings that encompass diverse learning needs, as well as learners in classrooms from birth to age three, preschool classrooms, K-1 classrooms, and classrooms in grades 2-4. Additionally, learners are placed in special education settings preK-8th grade.

Highly qualified teachers are sought in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and in many other states. Of particular interest to employers are candidates who are dually certified in Early Childhood Education and Special Education.

This program prepares you for the academic requirements for Pennsylvania certification in both PreK to Grade 4 and Special Education PreK to Grade 8.
