Procurement Procedures for Consultants, Speakers, and Entertainers

    The following must be provided on an IUP Service Requisition in order to process payments for consultants, speakers or entertainers:

    • Name, address, and phone number
    • Social Security number of individual
    • Date of service
    • Time of service: beginning and ending times
    • Location of service
    • Payment: Check mailed following service vs. check date of service
    • IUP contact person
    • Travel (est. cost)
    • Groups attending
    • Title of presentation
    • Justification
    • Qualification
    • Name and address of current employer
    • Citizenship—Please indicate on the requisition if individual is a US citizen or a non-US citizen. If a non-US citizen, department must provide a copy of the individual’s visa and/or employment card or a permanent resident card to Procurement Services via an email to the Purchasing Agent or fax to 724-357-2670. The purchasing agent must confirm the proposed consultant/speaker/entertainer is not on the Specially Designated Nationals List by checking the federal consolidated list available at US Treasury SDN List. Proposed consultant/speakers/entertainers whose names appear on this list cannot be awarded a contract by the university.

    Please note that all non-US citizens could have additional withholding taxes applied to their fee. Please contact Procurement Services at 724-357-3077 for further clarification.
