IUP Votes, supported by offices and students from across IUP, is holding a “Get Out the Vote Bash” on Thursday, October 14, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Wallwork Hall plaza.

All are invited to attend this free event. Attendees can expect games, giveaways, prizes, and music (thanks to our own WIUP-FM). The event has been organized with the intent to educate participants about the upcoming election and voter information. Students will also be able to update their voter information with guidance from volunteers.

IUP Votes has been active on the IUP campus for several years. It is a student-led organization with the purpose of educating students about voting in local, state, and national elections. IUP Votes does not support any particular party or candidate but encourages students at IUP to use their voices to be represented in the electoral process. The group uses #IUPVotes on social media.

A film crew will be on hand, and participants are encouraged to share why voting is important to them. Community partners including the Indiana County NAACP have been invited to participate.

Monday, October 18, 2021, is the deadline to register to vote for the Tuesday, November 2, 2021 election.
