LGBTQIA FlagOn Friday, August 27, MCSLE staff members stood at the new flag pole in front of Elkin Hall and held a ceremony to raise the inclusive rainbow flag in support of the LGBTQIA+ community.

"In an effort to increase awareness, education, and resources to combat sexual assault, Governor Wolf Launched the "It's On Us PA" campaign, inviting education leaders and all Pennsylvanians to be part of the solution to protect students from sexual violence," said Mr. Tedd Cogar, Associated Director of LGBTQIA Support. LGBTQIA students at IUP have indicated that flying a rainbow flag (this is the inclusive pride flag with the transgender colors and black and brown colors included) is a way of including students who often do not feel welcome on campus, either by individuals failing to honor and respect preferred names or individuals' pronouns.

"The "It's On Us" grant allows campuses to make positive change through efforts as visibility," said Cogar.
