Libraries generate a considerable amount of data about their operations, such as the number of daily visitors, how many times a database was used, how many questions were asked at the reference desk, how many classes we teach, and so on. This information
is valuable to the library to help us evaluate the use of our services, the reach of our resources, and the accessibility of our collections.
A snapshot of our services, collections, and operations are shown below:
Our Reference Department provides an extensive collection of reference works, scholarly research databases, and
custom-tailored research guides to support student and faculty research and coursework.
The IUP Libraries Special Collections and University Archives houses a broad array of IUP historic documents,
manuscripts, rare books, and a vast collection of images. A special focus on Pennsylvania history, and an excellent collection of rare, first-edition works make our Special Collections a unique and powerful research resource.
The Orendorff Music Library, located in Cogswell Hall, is where you’ll find our excellent music collections.
Thousands of scores, recordings, and circulating works are complemented by unique specialized research collections.
