Greg Gillespie's thesis helped him get a job with an integrated health facilityeven before he finished his degree. His thesis, "Electromygraphical analysis of push-up exercises throughout differing levels of stability," helped him become an expert in a very specific area of exercise science. Throughout the process, he was able to make connections with professionals in the field, as well as perform research at IUP's facilities.
As a graduate of the MS in Sports Science program at IUP, Josh Huger was inspired in a class to create the website Swim Utopia, which streamed swimming meets from all around the world. He's not only been able to travel across the United States, but has found many opportunities for networking with swimming industry professionals, visited countless college campuses, and even got the opportunity to broadcast an Olympic trial for the 2012 Olympics. His story shows that when you're passionate about something, you'll succeed.

Kayla Rorabaugh, a graduate student in Health and Physical Education, chose IUP because she wanted a university that would be competitive on a national level. IUP's Sports Management and Health and Physical Education programs had that prestige and recognition, she says. Professors push the students to get real-world, practical experience and learn more than just what they're taught in the classroom. "They turn out people who get jobs. They just have a very successful program," Rorabaugh says.
