Dr. Heather Powers has been working at IUP since 1999. She teaches courses that include: Basic Writing, College Writing, Research Writing, Humanities Literature, Literary Analysis, British Literature: 1660-1900, The Enlightenment, The Romantics, Major British Authors: Jane Austen, Major British Authors: J.K. Rowling, Advanced Literary Theory and Criticism, English Honors Seminar, Honors Core, and Public Speaking.

She enjoys Jane Austen, contemporary fiction, science fiction television and film, and horror writing and films. She is currently working on projects exploring depictions of parenting in contemporary horror films and on identity formation in Jonathan Swift's Journal to Stella.
