Using the “Edit in Context” function is best for minor edits only, such as correcting typos or punctuation. or using bold or italic. More complicated functions, such as adding links or images, will not work properly. For full editing functions, please
Editing in context happens on the web page itself, not from within the workarea. To edit in context, click the “switch to edit” button on the editing toolbar at the top of the page (see below).
Hover over the text that you want
to edit, and a black box will appear. Click the menu icon in the top right corner of the box (three horizontal lines), and choose “Edit in Context.”
You can now click within the text in that content block, and the formatting toolbar will appear. Editing can proceed as normal. (If the menu box is in your way, just click within the black bar at the top and drag the box elsewhere on the page.)
Note: If “Edit in Context” is not an option, then choose “Edit” and the regular workarea will open.
Important: There is no Check-In or Submit option when Editing in Context. Instead, you must click on the File tab at the top of the formatting toolbar and do one of the following:
If you do not do one or the other, the content will remain
checked out to you, and the live website will not be updated.
