Career and Professional Development Center Services

  • In addition to organizing several career fairs, employer information sessions, on-campus interviews with recruiters, and career workshops, the Career and Professional Development Center offers a number of other services to IUP students.

    We offer hour-long career coaching sessions; offer access to online resources for jobs, graduate schools, and internships; conduct mock interviews; and provide service in the following areas: service learning, volunteering, the Washington Center, and National Student Exchange.

    Guidance for undecided majors and individuals who want to explore various opportunities within their chosen career.
    Occupational Outlook Handbook
    The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized source of career information that provides job search tips, information specific to occupations, and links to information about the job market in each state.
    The Career and Professional Development Center acts as a clearinghouse for internship opportunities. 
    Mock Interviews
    The Career and Professional Development Center provides practice employment interviews in a simulated office environment for a small fee.
    National Student Exchange
    The National Student Exchange is a program for undergraduate exchange within the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands and Canada.
    Student Employment Program
    The Student Employment Program serves as a liaison between students and employers by providing a service that enables both students and employers to fulfill their employment needs.
    Service Learning
    The Career and Professional Development Center promotes professional and personal development through experiential learning.

    Guides to planning for graduate school and guides for choosing a graduate school.
    Media Resource Page
    The Career and Professional Development Center offers various media resources that highlight career skills, including cover letter writing, resume development, professional attire tips, and job fair tips.
    Disney College Program
    The Disney College Program is an opportunity offered to all students to experience working for the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, or the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.
