Sutton Scholars Program

  • All Sutton Scholarships have been awarded for the fall 2020 admissions cycle. However, other IUP scholarships will continue to be awarded throughout the admissions cycle.

  • Incoming freshmen for the fall 2020 semester with outstanding academic credentials can earn $4,000 Sutton Scholarships. Many of these scholarships can be renewed annually, leading to a total award of $16,000.

To be considered, you must meet these minimum requirements:

    • 3.25 or higher GPA
    • 1100 or higher on SAT critical reading and math or 22 on ACT

Those who complete the admissions application* by December 15 receive first consideration for freshman scholarships from the Admissions Office. Due to limited funding, not all students who meet the above criteria will receive a scholarship. Scholarship offers are made in the order that complete admissions applications are received. IUP employees or affiliates of the university who receive tuition waiver benefits are ineligible.

The Sutton Scholars Program is funded by the Foundation for IUP and gifts from alumni, friends, and employees of IUP.

*A complete admissions application includes a submitted application, high school transcripts, and SAT or ACT scores. (Contact the Admissions Office with any questions about submitting these materials.)
